PROGRAM
The primary purpose of this program is to introduce students to destination management, Thai cooking and serving, and provide the opportunity for international internships. The program will begin in Bangkok, and then move to Phuket, Thailand, one of the primary tourism areas of the country. During the first part of the program students will attend Prince Songkla University. Students will also study destination business management with a WSU professor, and visit a number of local tour operations such as diving, snorkeling, kayaking, culture and heritage, and animal and nature adventures. Course work will include consumer and management evaluations, and development of a business plan for a competitive tourism and hospitality company. Students will stay at a resort in Phuket and work in hospitality internships by "shadowing managers" to practice what they have learned about Thai culture and customs related to the hospitality and tourism industry.

If you do not commit to the program by the application deadline your application will be withdrawn and your placement in the program will be offered to the next student. If you choose to commit you are agreeing to the costs associated with the program as outlined in the budget sheets of the application and on the promotional flyer.
Please Note: Faculty-led programs are dependant upon a minimum number of applicants in order to run.
